Our Mission

About us

We use a new systemic innovation process from MIT to solve one of the world's biggest and growing problems: Ending homelessness through digital giving in the moment a homeless person is asking for money – transforming hundreds of daily moments of rejection to a feeling of being seen, a home, and a living. We prototype a simple, low cost, direct impact, trusted way to raise donations, create shelter and work for the homeless.

ENDING HOMELESSNESS
IN ONE MOMENT

From hundreds of rejections, being ignored and in pain - to being seen with a smile and a small gift that makes your day, a home, and a living.

I facilitate transformation from within — with organizations, communities and individuals, with an MSc in Physics and Behavioral Economics, and with 25 years of experience in global digitalization and cultural transformation. My work here is to encourage us to follow our hearts. Because where our hearts speak, we care. This view is not just philosophical: In this project it gets very practical, simply following my life experience as facilitator and married father of three sons — and modern psychology and neuroscience. Knowing Markus for more than 10 years working on a more human, sustainable economy together, I am more than happy to bring my expertise and network to this much needed endeavor.

The Challenge

Even more so since the COVID -19 pandemic, we are increasingly living in a cashless world, especially the socially conscious younger generations.

Cashless post Pandemic Age

Housing Economics & Supply

Providing stable housing in a tough housing market like Berlin is particularly challenging since there'r already a lack of flats on the market - let alone affordable social housing.

Will I make the problem worse?

Many potential donors told us they think cash will only amplify problems like addiction or alcohol abuse so they rather would not give at all.

Donation Impact Transparency

"I don't want my money to go into the wrong hands or even support a criminal organization with it." is what many potential donors also voiced.

HOUSING FIRST

We want to finance what works. Research in very different systems all over the world as well as results from a pilot project in Berlin support that unconditional housing combined with unconditional social work is what works to end homelessness long term. Let's finance it!

Ever been on the metro being asked for some change realizing that you don't have any, no matter how much you'd like to give something? We hear you. Digitally savy and native, we want to find the best ways to make digital donations easy, fast, secure and instant at the point of suffering.

DIGITAL PAYMENT

We are exploring ways that enable more trust, transparency and empathy with the person you are donating to - and work! We see a huge potential for transformation from turning away from an uncomfortable problem towards more empathy, warmth and cultural change in public spaces.

TRUST WORKS

GIVE WHAT'S NEEDED

We ask homeless people and those working with them what's really needed - to get through the day (and night) and to end homelessness sustainably. From access to showers to a sleeping bag to actual housing: We ensure donor money goes into real impact, balancing urgent needs and long term change.

Commuting on the metro to a social innovation project in Berlin-Marzahn for several months, I was asked for change several times a day. I, too, faced the challenges above, felt powerless, awkward and heart-broken as I didn't want to look away but be empathetic and actually wanted to help! So I teamed up with my much valued colleague Ulf to start this prototype initiative. Within 2 weeks, we applied and were approved for a system change innovation program with Otto Scharmer at MIT. We talked to people on the streets and those working with them and were really inspired by their perspectives, attitude and great work. We sense a true potential to combine our experience in entrepreneurship, change management and technology with them to co-create something helpful, society-changing, and wonderfully new.
